Why choose a NASM Certified Trainer?

PERSONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATION THAT DEFINES INDUSTRY STANDARDS

NASM certifications are the most sought after in the personal trainer industry, as its systems and methodologies represent the “gold standard” in fitness. In fact, the organization’s certifications require the most comprehensive knowledge of human movement science, functional anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, as well as functional assessment and program design. NASM solution-focused certifications create trainers who enhance the performance and knowledge of their fitness staff, provide a consistent training experience, and help reduce injuries.

NASM provides certification programs for entry-level and advanced practitioners in the sports medicine, performance enhancement and health and fitness industries. The NASM-CPT certification is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

EMPOWERMENT FOR CONSUMER EDUCATION AND PERFORMANCE

In addition to its many training and certification programs for experts, NASM empowers individuals to live healthy lives through the use of systematic evidence-based fitness programs. The NASM philosophy is that there is no “quick fix” to a healthy lifestyle. While NASM can’t change a person’s dominant behaviors, such as eating habits, its programs can positively alter behavior by allowing people to participate in customized, scientific-based exercise programs.

NASM PROGRAMS EARN DISTINCTION IN RESEARCH AND APPLICATION

Short Bio

Tyson was born and raised in Vernon, New Jersey where he resided until 1999 when he relocated to San Jose, California. From a challenging upbringing came the ability to adapt and thrive in less-than-ideal circumstances. An appreciation for overcoming challenges came perhaps out of necessity but has been part of the pillars that have driven his success. As a Systems and Network Administrator in the technology world, overcoming complex issues and helping to support some of the top companies in the Bay Area is part of the lenes Tyson brings to all opportunities. However, his desire to support a broader base led his to retooling and setting his eyes on more community endeavors. This was channeled into multiple degrees from DeAnza College in Administration of Justice, Social Sciences, Private Security, and San Jose State University, in Justice Studies and Political Science culminating in graduation from SJSU Graduate school with a Masters in Public Administration. It was during some difficult life events endured during Graduate school that Tyson began his concurrent education in fitness while completing his thesis. As such, fitness is another skillset that allows Tyson to connect and help people on a personal level in keeping with his desire to serve the public. With nationally NCAA accredited certifications from National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, Athletics and Fitness Association of America, and Les Mills, to name a few, Tyson brings a wealth of knowledge, education, experience, and passion that adds remarkable value to others.
